Traineeships are for young people aged 16-24 who do not have the qualifications or industry experience to start a full-time job.
They help prepare for work by equipping learners with the necessary skills, confidence and knowledge to progress into employment or an Apprenticeship.
Skills Training UK has developed two types of Traineeships programme which are relevant to employers in industry and in the service sector. They both provide CV writing skills, interview techniques and careers guidance as well as a 4 to 6-week work experience placement with a local employer. Both programmes also include working towards recognised qualifications in English, maths and ICT.
The tailored Traineeships, which have been adapted from the Government’s flagship Traineeships programme, are designed to maximise your chances of securing employment in specific sectors.
Traineeship for Industry
This Traineeship is for those who are looking for a career in manufacturing, warehousing, logistics and distribution. We have adapted the Traineeships programme to meet the needs of employers, with a 6 to 14-week course that includes a classroom-based learning programme as well as health and safety training, working towards an Industrial Environmental Awareness Award and gaining an accredited forklift driver’s licence.
Traineeship for the Service Sector
Our Traineeship for the Service Sector is for those looking for a career in business admin or retail. This 6 to 14-week course includes a classroom-based learning programme, where you will be working towards Level 1 and 2 Retail and Business Admin Awards, followed by a work experience placement with a local employer.
