About the course

Are you aged 19+ and considering a career in nursing or health? Have a passion for caring for people and a desire to progress to higher education as a mature student?

We're enrolling now for Access to HE Diploma: Health Professions Level 3 that will equip you with the right nationally recognised qualification, skills and confidence to gain you a place at university.

The free online course is designed for adult learners and mature students who want to progress to university and undertake nurse training or similar health profession training courses but don’t currently have the right qualifications.

The programme runs for 6 months and learners must be committed to completing the course duration - we still have limited spaces available.

Entry requirements

- Aged 19 or above as of August 1 2020
- Must already hold GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C+ or Functional Skills Level 2 Maths and English
- Unemployed
- An interest in a future career in the health profession
- Committed to six months of study
- Access to computer equipment and internet access

Assessment

You will be assessed through a variety of assignments including essays, reports and presentations.

Delivery

The course will be delivered online through Microsoft Teams and other virtual support.
The course starts soon and is expected to run for 6 months.
The course runs five days per week and will also include self-study and additional reading/assignment work.

Career development

Upon successful completion of the Access course you will be ready to progress to university and study towards a degree in a variety of topics including medical practitioner and nurse training.

Costs

The course is fully-funded by the government, meaning it is free for all learners.
