March 25th, 2019

Skills Training UK is delighted to announce that we have won the 'Training Provider of the Year' award at the Tes FE Awards 2019 presented in London on 22 March at the Grosvenor House Hotel.

The Training Provider of the Year award celebrates high quality teaching and learning, learner achievement and business performance and judges commented that in winning the award, Skills Training UK has not only met all of those criteria, but we “were an exemplar of how to be successful as an employer-responsive, individual-focussed, innovative” training provider.

Skills Training UK’s entry highlighted our high performance in the three core streams of our delivery: Apprenticeships and meeting employer training needs; achieving positive destinations for 16-24s and working with Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) and local communities to boost skills and achieve social mobility.

Judges said Skills Training UK has received “fantastic feedback from employers, apprentices and learners, and which is offering a great range of apprenticeships to a large number of learners from deprived areas.” They added: “They have had great results and growth during a difficult period for all providers, and they have embraced the apprenticeship levy and new standards.”

Martin Dunford OBE, Chief Executive, Skills Training UK, commented: “Winning ‘Training Provider of the Year’ is testament to the dedication and expertise of our talented teams who empower learners, apprentices and employers to achieve more. I’d like to thank all our staff, learners, employer clients and partner organisations for working with us to achieve this accolade.”

The Tes FE Awards 2019 were held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London, and were hosted by the stand-up comedian, writer and presenter Dave Gorman. More than 700 attendees celebrated and showcased the most exciting ideas, the best practice and the most inspiring teaching and leadership to be found in the FE sector.
