Apprenticeships for... Advanced Manufacturing
Skills Training UK specialises in apprenticeships for manufacturing. Designed by employers, for employers, our Business Improvement Techniques (BIT) can bring real, practical benefits to all aspects of your workforce.
As well as maximising the efficiency and productivity of your employees, BIT has been proven to contribute toward cost savings and to increase profitability, whether employing new apprentices or up-skilling current staff.
Skills Training UK runs various programmes for those in the manufacturing sector, including additional apprenticeships in Team Leading and Management.
During dedicated sessions employees learn about the Kaizen approach to continuous improvement, how to identify and eliminate waste, apply continuous improvement principles and sustain improvements in the workplace.
Other sessions focus on effective teamwork and communication, problem-solving and communication, the principles of establishing productive working relationships and 5S workplace organisational techniques.
By the end of the programme, employees will also have had the chance to put what they have learnt to real, practical use on the workshop floor – identifying areas of their own that can be improved and made more efficient.
Typical outcomes include the introduction of Lean manufacturing principles, improved data capture, reorganising of workstations and reducing changeover periods between production lines to enhance efficiency.
Whatever your requirements, our dedicated apprenticeship assessors will be with you every step of the way to ensure we meet your key business objectives.
