Five-star Hilton Hotel placement kickstarts Tribikram’s business career

Name: Tribikram Chakrabarti

Age: 17

Area: Ealing

Skills Training UK programme: L2 Business Administration Technical Certificate

Working at a Hilton Hotel was undoubtedly one of the highlights for Tribikram Chakrabarti during his Business Administration programme with Skills Training UK.

The 17-year-old developed his skills during a rewarding four-week work placement in the human resources and administration offices at the Ealing branch.

He said: “Honestly, I loved it. I learned so much, such as how to work in an office environment, how to establish and develop professional working connections, and generally meeting and communicating with a whole range of new people.

“I was so excited and happy when I found out about getting the work placement, and it really lived up to my expectations and helped with my studying. My communication, confidence and ability to work in a team were all areas I wanted to improve during my qualification – and I achieved all three.”

As part of his Business Administration qualification, Tribikram, who had previously dropped out of college, learned how to provide administrative services, use business technology and support business events.

“I particularly enjoyed the digital administration module,” he said. “It gave me the essential knowledge and understanding I’ll need to hopefully work in the world of business and administration one day.

“Throughout the course, I was able to get on and also work by myself, and received great support which really says a lot about Skills Training UK. It was a great experience.”

Rohini Bhangu, Human Resources Officer at Doubletree by Hilton London – Ealing, (pictured above), who worked alongside Tribikram, said: “It was a pleasure to work alongside someone who has the energy to learn and develop new skills. Tribikram’s placement involved creating relationships with all the team, general HR administration and the recruitment process.

“Tribikram is a focused and patient person with excellent communication skills. I found him to be adaptable in any given situation, and he can work in a team and individually. He has proved to be a confident and trustworthy person and I have no doubt that Tribikram will succeed and be an asset to any company he works for.

“Overall, Tribikram was a huge help to the company, with the extra hands and employee relations ideas. I have found Skills Training UK to be a credible company to work alongside and I will continue to take on work placements in the near future just like Tribikram.”
