Skills Training UK – business update statement

It is with regret that Skills Training UK Limited is taking steps to appoint liquidators.

The company had been carrying out a turnaround of the business since June 2022, having experienced significant financial pressures following the Covid-19 pandemic, pressures which were further exacerbated by the Government’s decision in December 2022 to end the Traineeships programme. It began a formal restructuring of its business this June, 2023 to end its 16-18 provision.

Following further recent uncertainty in the public funding environment for its adult courses and despite tireless efforts to secure financial support, it has become clear that the additional funding required to complete the restructuring and ensure the continued operation of STUK would not be forthcoming.

Given these circumstances our talented and committed staff have been asked not to come to work and we are working to support them as best we can. Our Training Centres will therefore remain closed until further notice, and delivery to learners across all courses has stopped.

A further update will be provided by the liquidators following their formal appointment, expected to be on 2^nd August 2023.
