If your business or organisation has an annual wage bill of less than £3m then you do not pay the Apprenticeship Levy.

As a smaller employer you pay just 5% of the cost of the Apprenticeship Standard and the Government pays 95%. Each Apprenticeship Standard has an agreed ‘funding band’ which can be anything between £1,500 and £27,000 depending on its level and complexity.

The payments for apprenticeships training are made through the Government’s Digital Apprenticeship Service by setting up your own online account which we can guide you on.

As an SME you can add up to ten apprenticeship programmes onto your account at any given time.

Clinical Coding Apprenticeship helps to upskill and enhance careers at NHS Trust

The programme covers strong theoretical elements of Clinical Coding such as the importance of accuracy and consistency in recording data and what we use the data for. This isn’t typically covered in the standard Clinical Coding course, mainly due to time and the intensity of the practical coding undertaking, so to have a programme that can encompass both elements and underpin the theory is invaluable.
